What is resin bound stone?
Resin bound stone is a unique paving system which consists of a kiln dried natural aggregate combined with a UV resistant aliphatic polyurethane resin. Resin bound stone has many advantages such as it is extremely hard wearing, Suds compliant, porous, water does not puddle, anti-slip, easy to maintain and of course very attractive. If you wish for a natural gravel look without all those loose stones combined with a beautiful seamless finish, then resin bound stone is the answer. We cover all residential areas such as driveways, courtyards, patios, paths and steps. We also cover commercial areas such as car parks, schools, forecourts, pub gardens, tree pits and many more (please see gallery). Whether it is a contemporary or a rustic look you are after then this is all possible with the right colour stone choice, edgings and profiles. Here at Installation @ The One Stop Resin Shop we pride ourselves on using only the highest quality raw materials available in the market place to date, our choice of natural stone is vast with options to mix and match allowing you to customise your desired project. All our resins are protected from all UV rays as we ONLY use a UV resistant aliphatic resin in ALL of our applications.
The process of mixing the natural stone with the UVR resin is all done on site in a specialised Forced Action Mixer. We only use specialised engineered mixes to which have been tried and tested to the highest standard ensuring we have the strongest product in the market place.

We offer resin bound surfacing for residential and commercial properties and sectors throughout the south
Resin bound stone can only be laid on a structurally sound substrate such as concrete or tarmac, if the area consists of existing gravel, grass or damaged concrete / tarmac then a complete ‘full construction’ is necessary. However if the existing substrate is concrete or tarmac and is structurally sound and in good condition then we can lay the resin bound stone straight over the top thus being an ‘overlay’. If this option is available then this can be highly cost effective as we do not have to excavate any of the existing ground.
We provide fantastic services for a range of purposes, including steps, paths and patios, through to overlay and full construction driveways, in addition to bespoke shaping and profiling in a range of different colours, all available upon request or take a look at our beautiful Traditional Range . Can resin bound stone be laid all year round?
Yes it can be laid all year round providing the ground is completely dry, not raining and the temperature is above 5oC.
Is resin bound stone ok in the winter and on frosty mornings?
Yes all our resins are tested down to -50oC
I have a steep driveway, can I still use resin bound stone?
Yes of course, on particularly steep driveways and paths we use a little extra kiln sand in the mix and sprinkle over our anti slip property for extra grip.
How long before we can walk / drive on the surface once laid?
Once laid we advise to leave it 6 hours before walking on it and 48 hours before driving, this may be a little longer in the autumn/winter as the resin takes a little longer to cure due to the low temperatures.
I have an old concrete / tarmac driveway, can resin bound stone go straight over this?
This will depend on the condition of the existing tarmac/concrete, if it’s in very good structural condition then yes it can once all cleaned off. A member of our staff will be able to let you know if it can be done usually on the initial site visit.
Will my new driveway fade?
We here at Installation @ The One Stop Resin Shop ONLY use a UVR aliphatic resin, which coats all the stones with a UV protected resin thus protecting the surface from any of the UV rays. General wear and tear will occur as the years go by depending on traffic usage and remember we use a natural stone so will naturally fade slightly over the years due to the elements of the weather
